SL国鉄記念号
別掲の「SL寿たつみ号」を撮影した約一ヶ月後、今度は「C57が旧型客車の団体列車を牽くらしい」という情報を入手。ど~しても行きたくなり、豊橋から山口まで必死で駆けつけました。
国鉄末期で国鉄OB?の団体列車だそうですが、当時既に消滅間際だった旧型客車を山陰方面からかき集めてきた編成でいつもにはない魅力でした。

ちなみに、この一週間後、同じ旧型客車を集煙装置を外したC57が牽くという団体列車が走りました。事故死したとあるファンを追悼する列車だったそうです。現地でこの情報を入手しましたが、さすがに諦めました。

SL寿たつみ号
通常、山口線を走るSL列車は12系または12系改の客車を使いますが、この時はとある「鉄」なファンが自分の結婚式をC57-1牽引の団体列車で行ったため、通常入線しない元祖ブルトレ20系客車をC57が牽くという組み合わせになりました。
残念ながら、終日生憎な天気でしたが、普段見られない編成にSLサウンドも相まって、結構興奮しました。
