Do roku 2009 má být osobní doprava vyčleněna do jedné nebo více dceřinných společností a provozování drah a poté i řízení dopravy má být postupně převedeno na státní organizaci SŽDC.

Die Deutsche Bahn AG (DB) ist ein in Deutschland ansässiges Eisenbahnunternehmen, das 1994 aus den beiden Staatsbahnen Deutsche Bundesbahn und Deutsche Reichsbahn hervorgegangen ist. Das Unternehmen beschreibt sich selbst als weltweit zweitgrößtes Transportunternehmen nach der Deutschen Post AG und Europas größtes Eisenbahnunternehmen.[3] Es ist als Konzern strukturiert und hat über 200 Tochterunternehmen.[4] Im Schienenverkehr erwirtschaftet das Unternehmen heute etwa die Hälfte des Gesamtumsatzes. Das weitere Transport- und Logistikgeschäft sowie verschiedenste Dienstleister machen die andere Hälfte des operativen Geschäftes aus. Die Konzernzentrale war zunächst in Frankfurt am Main ansässig.[5] Im Jahr 2000 bezog sie den BahnTower in Berlin. Für 2010 ist ein erneuter Umzug in einen geplanten Neubau neben dem Berliner Hauptbahnhof vorgesehen.[6] Die Konzernentwicklung und andere zentrale Abteilungen sind weiterhin in Frankfurt ansässig. Das Grundkapital des Unternehmens beträgt 2,15 Milliarden Euro und ist in 430 Millionen auf Inhaber lautende, nennwertlose Stückaktien eingeteilt. Die Bundesrepublik Deutschland ist Inhaberin aller Anteile. Da der Bund alle Anteile beibehält und kein Handel damit stattfindet, handelt es sich aufgrund der Eigentümerstruktur um ein privatrechtlich organisiertes Staatsunternehmen. Im Jahr 2006 hat das Unternehmen einen Gewinn von 1,68 Milliarden Euro erzielt[8]. Das Unternehmen erwirtschaftet einen Teil seines Umsatzes über Verkehrsverträge mit der öffentlichen Hand; bezuschusst wird ebenfalls Unterhalt und Ausbau der Infrastruktur.

La Red Nacional de los Ferrocarriles Españoles (Renfe) es un organismo paraestatal español de transporte ferroviario existente como tal entre 1941 y 2004. En 2005 se dividió en ADIF, ente gestor de las infraestructuras ferroviarias españolas, y Renfe Operadora, compañía que se quedó con la explotación de los ferrocarriles. Fue fundada el 24 de enero de 1941 a raíz de la nacionalización de diversas compañías ferroviarias españolas, entre las que destacaban la Compañía de los Caminos de Hierro del Norte de España (1858–1941), la Compañía de los Ferrocarriles de Madrid a Zaragoza y Alicante, M.Z.A, (1856–1941) y la Compañía del Oeste y la Ferrocarriles Andaluces, ya bajo tutela estatal, desde 1928 y 1936, respectivamente. El objeto de la creación de Renfe fue rehabilitar la red ferroviaria española, gravemente dañada como consecuencia de la Guerra Civil, ante la situación de quiebra económica de las empresas ferroviarias que hasta entonces habían explotado la red. Renfe ha explotado la red ferroviaria española desde su creación en régimen de monopolio hasta el día 31 de diciembre de 2004. A partir de la década de los 1970 y principalmente en la de los 1980, Renfe se empezó a regir por una política de rentabilidad económica, por lo que todas aquellas líneas que no eran rentables fueron cerrándose al tráfico progresivamente. El 1 de enero de 1985 se cerraron más de 900 km de vías y líneas. Sirvan como ejemplo el Santander-Mediterráneo, Andalucía–Levante (ferrocarril del Almanzora), el Valladolid–Ariza, la Vía de la Plata, etc.

Per non andare in contro con TMF vengono qui solo accetato foto delle ferrovie Italiane dagli anni 1950 fino la anni 1988 primo del arrivo del attuale livrea XMPR, che ha cambiato parecchie nel paesaggio dei treni italiane. Quindi se avete foto di publicita, stazioni ben curate con fontanaello e giardinetto , biglietti fatto in quel epoca , anche scansionato, sono perfettamente benvenuto in questo galleria. Possono essere anche di treni storici fotografato d'oggi. Caimani, Tigre, Tartaruge lucide, carrozze griggie, tutto quello che puo dare l'idea del tempo passato come sopra indicato

N.V. Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) is het nationale spoorwegbedrijf van Nederland. Van 1938 tot en met 1994 was NS eigenaar en beheerder van de Nederlandse railinfrastructuur en exploitant van alle hierop uitgevoerde vervoerdiensten. In 1995 werd NS verzelfstandigd. Het verloor eigendom en beheer van de railinfrastructuur en het alleenrecht op vervoerdiensten per spoor. In 2002 is de infrastructuur formeel overgedragen aan het Ministerie van Verkeer en Waterstaat.
De belangrijkste activiteiten van NS op dit moment zijn reizigersvervoer per spoor en exploitatie van stations. NS is een naamloze vennootschap met als enig aandeelhouder de Nederlandse Staat. De aandelen worden sinds 1 januari 2005 beheerd door het Ministerie van Financiën (voordien door het Ministerie van Verkeer en Waterstaat).

A CP (Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses, embora por vezes, após a criação da REFER, alguns a denominem Comboios de Portugal para efeitos de marketing) é a empresa pública portuguesa de transporte ferroviário. A empresa traça as suas origens até 28 de Outubro de 1856, data em que pela primeira vez aconteceu uma viagem ferroviária em Portugal. No entanto, foi só em 1975 que a actual CP foi constituída, sucedendo à Companhia dos Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses, fundada em 1951, que por sua vez sucedeu a um período em que coexistiram no país diversas empresas, públicas e privadas. Hoje, a CP transporta cerca de 178 milhões de passageiros e 9,3 milhões de toneladas de mercadorias por ano.
